"The Elephant Walk"is a new start-up non-profit organization with a mission to provide assistance to high functioning  teenagers  and young adults, with developmental disabilities,  looking to transition and become more independent, productive members of their community.

Why is it called "The Elephant Walk" ?

Often, when we reach out to help others, we find that we, ourselves, are benefactors in some way, shape, or form.    Everyone one,  regardless of their abilities or disabilities,  has both strengths and weaknesses,  and as such,  each has the potential to use their strength to lift up another's weakness. This ideal is portrayed when Elephants walk trunk-to-tail and the image portrayed in "the Elephant Walk" is that the strength of one lifts up the weakness of another.
